GALVESTON, Texas, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- A Texas woman set to be
the focus of an "America's Most Wanted" episode says she remains
hopeful the assailant in her 1990 kidnapping will be captured.
An upcoming "Most Wanted" episode will highlight the 1990
abduction, rape and attempted murder of then-8-year-old Jennifer
Schuett of League City, Texas, The Houston Chronicle said Friday.
Schuett was kidnapped on Aug. 10, 1990, by an unidentified
male who raped the young girl before slitting her throat and leaving
her to die on a fire ant mound in Dickinson, Texas.
The girl was found hours later by a group of children and
taken to the hospital where doctors were able to treat to her
wounds.
Eventually Schuett was able to speak despite the wounds to
her throat and voice box and now the 27-year-old woman will attempt
to find her assailant through Saturday's "Most Wanted" show.
"I want him to pay for what he did, and I don't want him to
hurt anyone else," Schuett told the Chronicle.
