NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Nick Swisher hit a walk-off, two-run home run with one out in the ninth inning Wednesday, giving the New York Yankees a 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
Swisher connected on a 2-0 fastball from Baltimore's Koji Uehara (1-1) and drove the ball over the left-field wall for his 26th home run of the year.
Uehara faced only three batters, allowing a single to Alex Rodriguez to open the ninth and a long fly out by Robinson Cano before Swisher's home run.
New York reliever Jaba Chamberlain (3-4) got the win after pitching the top of the ninth, striking out two of the four batters he faced. Another reached on an error by Derek Jeter.
The Orioles took a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning on Matt Wieters' 11th home run of the season that drove in Adam Jones ahead of him.
New York scored first when Brett Gardner doubled in Curtis Granderson in the third inning.
