On eve of rematch with Minnesota Vikings, Saints' Reggie Bush refutes report about giving back Heisman   ( Sports News)

Sept. 08--METAIRIE, La. -- Saints running back Reggie Bush was a sought-after interview today after Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday the Heisman Trophy Trust was "expected" to strip the former Southern California star of his 2005 award.
Bush told reporters he believes the report was bogus and said his focus was on the Minnesota Vikings and Thursday night's regular-season opener at the Louisiana Superdome.
"As if this game didn't have enough distractions," Bush lamented. "Everything will play itself out. It's just an unfortunate situation for everybody, including USC."
Yahoo reported two sources close to the Heisman Trust saying the body's investigation would concur with the NCAA's determination that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season and would move to strip him of the trophy and vacate the honor for 2005 -- a first in the 75-year history of the award.
The Heisman Trust released a statement later Tuesday saying no determination had been made.
Bush electrified college football in 2005, rushing for 1,740 yards (a whopping 8.7 per carry) and 16 touchdowns.
"On the field, my play speaks for itself," Bush said.
The NCAA concluded Bush and his family improperly received cash and gifts from a pair of sports agents in 2004-05. The NCAA banned USC from bowl games in 2010-11 and stripped the university of 30 scholarships over the next three years.
